Ryan Stephen Barr is an English actor who has worked in theatre, television, music and radio. He is best known for his supporting roles in major British soap operas and TV sitcoms. It was during a visit to PRC Accompanied at 9 years of age that Ryan was introduced to actor and director Sam Chisnell. Sam saw the potential in young Ryan, and helped him to make his theatre debut with The Wizard of Oz in 2006. Following on from this successful debut, Sam and Ryan formed an excellent working relationship, and the pair went on to collaborate on such theatre productions as Aladdin, Dick Wittington, and Alice in Wonderland. It was during this time that Ryan was introduced to the Directors of the Maghull Musical Theatre Company (M.M.T.C), who immediately signed him and began to work with him to boost his stage experience. Ryan quickly excelled, and became one of M.M.T.C's respected cast members. Over the next few years he played a variety of roles in a number of stage productions, including both Oliver Twist and Happy Families. Although the theatre had allowed Ryan to develop his skills as an actor and performer, he felt the need to spread his wings, and set his sights upon joining the television and film industry. Ryan made the move to join with the UK's top modeling and casting agency, E.K.A / Euro Kids, who gave him the experience and skills necessary to become a successful TV actor. Following the completion of a two week course with the National Theatre in London whilst with E.K.A, Ryan was hired for a part in the Liverpool based feature film A Small Family Business, directed by Kelly Taylor. Having had his skills as an actor noticed, Ryan was then scripted as the main character Roy Rushton in the Max Cooke directed feature film My Lover's Broken Heart. This marked the successful start of Ryan's television and film career and catapulted him on to the radar of a number of successful TV producers. Since then, Ryan has gone on to play successful roles in the well-known television soap operas Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale, and has also appeared in the acclaimed TV sitcom Bad Education.
